January is Thyroid Awareness Month. Someone needs to hear this and know that it’s not them, it’s a disease that can be treated.
You’ve probably heard of thyroid disease, but did you know that nearly 60% of people with thyroid disease go undiagnosed? According to the American Thyroid Association (thyroid.org), more than 12% of the U.S. population will suffer from a thyroid condition at some point in their lives.
In order to raise awareness, take this opportunity to review the symptoms of thyroid disease for yourself or a loved one. It is a treatable condition, and early detection of thyroid cancer can save lives. See my post below for more information on thyroid disease in women.
